Day at the Dome and Capitol Build 2023

Habitat for Humanity Texas' annual Day at the Dome and Capitol highlights the critical need for affordable housing in Texas. While advocates visit legislative offices, our construction volunteers build ALL the walls for an entire home on the South Steps of the Capitol. At the end of our build, the walls are loaded onto a truck and transported to its final resting place. In 2023, the home will be built for a Habitat homebuyer in Jefferson County, near Beaumont.

Remember, Habitat homes are not free. They are purchased at a price affordable to the homebuyer and the homebuyers helps build their own house (that's called sweat equity). Habitat isn't a hand out; it's a hand up!
